The weaknesses we would like to strengthen
A search of the literature shows the modern church has two weaknesses which we wish to make strengths.
First, we aren’t doing discipleship very well because of the vagueness of our definitions, our processes, and our definition of what success looks like. We counteract this by creating a curriculum and discipleship goals from a little used but specific discipleship focused portion of Scripture, 2 Peter 1:1-11.
Second, individuals and groups throughout church history have retreated in response to a world pace not conducive to spiritual growth, but the Protestant Church does not do retreats well. This doesn’t have to be the case. We counteract this by creating semi-silent, preached weekend discipleship retreats.
